The state has also provided paper-based practice tests for home and classroom use on the testing portal.
-
Florida Testing Portal
- There is a wealth of information available on the Florida State testing portal should you have additional questions or need more information.
-
Additional Tests
- There are additional tests occasionally offered in order to further your student’s education. Some of these tests are available at Hernando eSchool and some are available through outside sources
- Post-Secondary Education Readiness Test (PERT)
- Hernando county schools offers the PERT test 2-3 times per year to students in grades 9-12 who have a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) and wish to take Dual Enrollment courses at Pasco-Hernando State College. Hernando eSchool sends invitations to register out to students who meet the GPA requirement.
-
PSAT
- The PSAT is offered Free to all 10th grade students in the state of Florida who are enrolled in the Public School system. Homeschool 10th grade students may also take the PSAT, but there is a cost associated. The College Board also encourages 11th grade students to take/retake the PSAT to qualify for scholarship programs who have partnered with them and there is a cost associated for 11th graders ($17 in the 2022 school year).
- The State of Florida has also determined that the PSAT Math portion can provide a concordant score for the Algebra 1 EOC for those students still needing to meet the graduation requirement of passing. The Florida Department of Education sets the concordant score value for each High School cohort (graduating class). Hernando eSchool is a public school and works with Hernando High School to offer this test to our students in our Assessment Center. Students will be sent an email invitation and must register online. Fees are to be paid in person at the eSchool office, if applicable. No refunds will be given to 11th grade students who pay and do not show up
-
SAT and ACT
- The SAT and ACT are National Tests offered on specific Saturday’s at the county’s five high schools throughout the calendar year. Students must register online and pay a fee to take the test. In some cases, a fee waiver is available. Please contact our school counselor for more information on fee waivers.
- We encourage our students to sit for one or both of these tests as SAT and ACT scores are necessary to attend many Universities. The English/Reading and Mathematics scores are also used to meet the Florida Grade 10 FSA ELA and Algebra 1 graduation requirements.
- Use Hernando eSchoo's school code when registering so that a copy of your scores will be sent directly to us. Our school code is 102338.
- Students can use Khan Academy's SAT Prep course to prepare for the SAT.
- SAT School Day
- The State of Florida has partnered with the College Board to offer the SAT School Day twice a year for Seniors who still need to meet the graduation requirements of passing the Grade 10 FSA ELA and/or the Algebra 1 EOC. The score received on this SAT will be considered non-reportable to Colleges/Universities and will only be used by the school district to meet assessment graduation requirements. The Florida Department of Education sets the concordant score value for each High School cohort (graduating class). Hernando eSchool is not approved by the College Board to give the SAT School Day, but we do work with our 5 county High Schools for students to take the test at their zoned school. Hernando eSchool Full-time program students register for these assessments by registering online during the Fall or Spring. Please contact the Hernando eSchool Assessment office to receive further information.
