According to Florida State Assessment {FSA) results for third grade, Hernando School District's results remained fairly steady with a slight increase in the number of students scoring at Level 1. Below is a breakdown of results for this school year. There are no results for 2020 as all testing in Florida was canceled due to the pandemic.
- Number of students tested - 98.5% - Of the 1,653 third graders enrolled in HCSD, 1,629 took the 2021 FSA Reading assessment.
- Percentage scoring Level 3 or higher - 57% - The percentage of students scoring Level 3 or higher remained at 57% for 2021 and 2019.
- Percentage scoring at Level 1 - 19% - The percentage of students scoring Level 1 increased by 1%, bringing the percentage of Level 1 to 19% for 2021.
- Biggest Movers
- JD Floyd, Moton and Suncoast Elementary schools had significant increases in the percent of students scoring Level 3 as well as decreases in students scoring Level 1.
- Brooksville, Chocachatti and Winding Waters K8, all decreased the number of students scoring Level 1, with BES having the largest decrease of five percent points.
"The staff and students of Floyd, Moton and Suncoast should be proud as should all of our schools. After a school year marked by many disruptions to our regular way of work, teachers created classrooms where students could set aside the distractions and learn. These results are promising indicators of their resiliency, " Superintendent John Stratton said.
