 Volunteer Q & A:

I want to be a level 2 volunteer. I can just go somewhere and get fingerprinted right?

No, there are several required steps you must follow first. Before anyone is eligible to become a level 2 volunteer, they must first be an approved level 1. If you wish to become a mentor, tutor, volunteer coach or chaperone for an OVERNIGHT field trip, principal approval is required. Safe schools must submit paperwork on your behalf to create your fingerprint profile. Skipping steps may cause delays for everyone.

I need to renew my badge, where do I go?

Renewals for the 2026-2027 school year began June 1st and ended August 14th. If you did not renew during that time, please complete a new online level 1 volunteer application. Applications take 3-5 business days to process and cannot be expedited.

Level 2 badges are 5 year badges, correct?

Fingerprint results are valid in the system for 5 years, but the badge must be renewed each year during the renewal period.

You must have your hard badge to volunteer. Badges must be worn at all times.

When volunteering please remember to find alternative care for younger children.
