Adult Education
Program Descriptions
Adult High School
Adult High School classes are available for former students who are 18+ with at least 12 high school credits. Students will have an opportunity to earn a high school diploma once all graduation requirements are completed. The cost is $30.00 per term. Call to schedule an appointment with our counselor.
Community Education
Community Education classes are available, covering everything from CNA Prep to Intro to Soldering Fees are required but are usually minimal. Schedules are posted on our social media accounts and on our Eventbrite page.
ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)
The purpose of this course is to provide English language instruction for limited English proficient adults, which will increase their ability to communicate in English. Courses are offered at various. The cost is $30.00 per term.
GED General Educational Classes
The purpose of this program is to prepare students for academic and personal success by obtaining the necessary skills required to pass the official GED Test and be awarded the State of Florida High School Diploma. Courses are offered at various locations. The cost is $30.00 per term.
GED General Educational Preparation Classes
Develop Literacy Skills necessary for successful employment and citizenship. Prepares students to enroll in the GED courses. Students work on skills in Reading, Math and Language. Courses are offered at various locations. The cost is $30.00 per term.
GED Testing Services
The GED exam is offered through GED Testing Services, for anyone ages 18 or older. Hernando County does have a local testing center; however registration and payment arrangements are made at ged.com. All students under the age of 18 must have an Underage Waiver prior to scheduling your test. In Florida, a student who is 16 or 17 is required to meet the conditions set by the school district in which he/she resides or attends school.
