Hernando County is proud to offer Florida Virtual School's full-time programs to families as a school of choice. Because of our state's commitment to online learning, your student can participate in a full-time, 180-day program at no cost to you if he/she meets the eligibility requirements. Mission Statement

The mission of the Hernando County School District is to provide quality education in a safe environment for the youth of our community.  We recognize that this will foster their growth physically, socially, and academically. We provide the opportunity for life long learning for all our citizens so that all may compete and flourish in a modern, global economy. Students are our primary concern and very reason for our existence, however, we are also sensitive to the needs of others such as parents, the community and all employees of Hernando County Schools.
